08:00-09:00 Catacombs of Kom el Shoqafa (It's worth going early in the morning when no one else is around (before the tour buses arrive). The catacombs date from the Roman period and were allegedly discovered accidentally when a donkey fell into one of the underground tunnels.Deep inside the main shaft there is a series of rooms where the remains of the dead were kept. Now all that can be seen are the rectangular niches. There's a triclinium room, where feasts were held for funerals and on each death anniversary. Most of the walls are bare rock, but there are also some elaborate wall paintings) p/s: pakai kasut yg bole kotor2

06:00-07:30 Dinner at Al azhar park (The park offers a beautiful view over Cairo and the Citadel, especially at sunset. There are cafes, a restaurant and a lovely pond… it’s Cairo’s Central Park! They built Al Azhar Park about 6 years ago literally on a mountain of garbage. A nice move to improve the looks of the city, and to give people a quiet place to relax. p/s: restaurant ni mahal sikit la tp view cantik nmpak sunset kt pyramid and the whole cairo

9:00-10:00 Bayt el Harawi in the area to the south of the mosque of Al-Azhar, was built in 1731 and occupied until 1920. (at night, where can watch free shows such as sufi dance and tannoura (whirling dervish), concerts with typical Middle Eastern instruments.

2:00-3:30 Cairo tower (Cairo Tower is a concrete 187 m (614 ft) high tower. It was built in 1961. Its design is unique, recalling the lotus flower shape – how Egyptian! From the top terrace you can have a 360° view over Cairo and also eat something at its revolving restaurant. Cairo Tower is on an island called Zamalek, so you will be surrounded by the Nile, with its feluccas and floating restaurants that make it almost as trafficked as a street)

Houseman's fate

Salam and hi,

I just received the feedback for my elective report. I choose to upload the comment given by the marker (it's a surgeon btw, has a Mr. in front of his name) because I felt surprised with his view regarding the change of system for housemen's. In my report, I did say a bit about how housemen were overworked and bla bla in Malaysia. Sorry, it may look inappropriate but I felt like I need to write about it. Guess what he think? 

He admitted that although he had to work ridiculous amount of hours as a junior doctor back then, he didn't think that the next generation of junior doctors have to go through like he did. He actually felt thankful that things have changed within the UK. Yes. It's getting better now, with constant feedback from junior doctors to the ministry to make the profession less sufferable. It has been proven that when the junior doctors are less overworked, it would be good for them, patients and everyone around them. 

Look at Ireland, the junior doctors had massive strike to defend their rights to have a better working hours. They were very united I would say. And the world has to listen to them, even if the government is being oblivious. ha

In comparison to what happen in Malaysia, well, Malaysians are just plainly defensive (in my opinion). The people in the Ministry and the seniors just love to see the junior doctors gone through what they'd gone through. They think that the kind of trainings they had couple of decades ago was what best for all. Nothing have to change or need to change. They had made the sacrifice so we now have to made our sacrifice as well. Although deep inside, they'd be glad if things were different ( I assume). The reason why they don't want to change the system is thats they think that lesser amount of  working hours correlates to lesser medical knowledge and competency among the junior doctors.

Hence, there were rumours that they want to increase the number of hours from 60 to 90 hours per week. So that these people will be smarter by working like a zombie. ha. In average, one has to work 15 hours for 6 days a week. The average working week for all Malaysians is 40 hours per week and the labour laws allow up to 48 hours per week. So a houseman works up to three times more than a normal Malaysia.  What a wonderful life. Is that really the way to tackle this issue? I don't think so. 

I guiltily admit that I do feel regret choosing this career although I love medicine. I don't think I am able to juggle my family and career if I work in Malaysia. I know thousands of people succeeded the two years of houseman but there's no achievement without sacrifice. The thing is I don't want to sacrifice my life and my family. Probs it would be better to just stay here, in UK. But I want to go bacckkkk. 3 more months to decide

Edinburgh Road Trip

Salam and hi,

Warning: this is a throwback. Last spring (April gitu), kami 4 orang decide untuk buat road trip ke Edinburgh from Leeds. Thankfully the weather was all nice and kereta kesayangan, Ford KA, kami yang comel tak buat ape-ape masalah. hehe. For this trip, I booked an accommodation from Agoda website (highly recommended. Murah!). We stayed at Princess Street Suites for 2 nights, it costs us only GBP 80. So, sorang bayar GBP 20 for 2 nights. Macam sewa hostel dah harga tapi dapat tempat 4 star. It was 2-bedroom apartment, a luxury apartment. Alhamdulillah rezeki.

1st Day

The duration from Leeds to Edinburgh takes about 3 and half hours. The scenery along the road trip were absolutely breath taking. Cantikkk sangat countryside. huhu. Sampai je Edin, kitorang tak buang masa, terus letak barang and jalan ke area sekitar hotel. Sebabkan hotel kitorang just in front of Edinburgh bridge and in the middle of the city, so best jugak la. First place kitorang pergi, Calton Hill.

Calton Hill ni antara one of the attractions. Tak sure pasal ape tapi cantik sangat view from the top. Sebab dah name pun hill kan, so kene la daki sikit-sikit hehe

Lame gak kitorang pusing-pusing situ je, Then, sebab dah almost petang ke malam, kitorang cari tempat makan and balik menikmati accom kitorang yang best. haha tengok TV sambil makan2.

2nd Day

The next day, kitorang plan utk pergi ke Arthur's Seat. Another biggies kat Edinburgh jugak.

Then, kitorang jalan and lalu ke Princess Street Gardens, Scottish National Gallery untuk ke Edinburgh Castle. Kitorang tak masuk and spend time kat gallery sume sebab tak minat and made tak cutup. haha

Few miles from here, another interesting place to go is Camera Obscura. Masuk bayar 10 pounds for student. Mahal jugak tapi besstt sangat. Its all about illusion in here. Tak banyak amik gambar sebab have fun sangat dalam ni ;D A must go!

In Edinburgh kitorang cari tempat makan halal dengan guna apps Zabihah. A very useful apps. Serious kene download! free je! Harga makan boleh expect range from 6-10 pounds sorang sekali makan. Selalunye kene tau la yang kedai makan halal kat uk ni either fast food atau kedai nasi briyani (fevret hubby saye sbb kenyang =.=)

3rd Day

Kitorang menggunakan sepenuhnya kereta yang ada, so lepas checkout accom, kitorang bawak makanan yang beli kat Tesco untuk picnic kat North Berwick. Approx 40 minutes from Edinburgh city. Gorgeouss sangat tempat ni. Gambar kat tempat ni la yang jadi profile pic fb I untuk sekian lame. sebab lawa sangaaat. Jatuh hati...

Best sgt trip ni. After dah puas tahan sejuk kat pantai, kitorang pun bertolak balik ke Leeds. Tapi, dalam perjalanan balik tu, kami sempat lagi nak singgah Cumbria National Park ngn Scotland-England border yang dijumpai secara kebetulan. If rajin, sy tulis skit la pasal tempat ni hehe

Otley carboot Sale

Salam and hi,

Selalunya, carboot sale just ade March-November. Tak pernah lak tau carboot ade time winter. But recently, just dapat tau yang ade car boot yang bukak all year round kat Otley. Heaven! So, today we decided to go there. Entry fee ialah GBP 1 sorang.

Cam biase, sume carboot memang freezing cold. So, memang dah redi dengan baju lapis-lapis and tebal. Then bawak coins and changes banyak-banyak. It's embarrassing tau bayar 50p stuff dengan GBP 20 note. haha. Just hari ni lupe nak bawak reusable bag. selalu bawak :/

Carboot Otley ni best gak. Tak lecak coz die atas tar. Selalu carboot lain atas padang. Banyak jugak barang jual. Tapi x seramai airpoot atau whitby carboot la. Orang yang datang pun boleh tahan. But I like this carboot! I found few vintage stuffs. Tempted nak beli tapi incik suamiku tak berminat. Takpe lenkali bole try lagi. hehe
